May 5th 1981: Assopiuma was founded

A short history of Assopiuma and its Charter

Assopiuma was set up on may 5th 1981, at the Grand Hotel Fiera in Milan, as an association of Italian firms producing feather and down as filling material and finished products filled with feather and down. Its goals are:

• "…To support and enhance the whole category and, in particular, to safeguard the interests of its members, singularly and collectively…
• "…To represent, both at national and international level, the general, moral and material interests of the domestic and foreign markets of feather and down, of all related products and of the feather and down industry…"
  

The association was set up by 14 feather and down companies investing human and economic resources to promote these products, and regulate the market.
