Assopiuma and the University of Milan

In 1985 and 1986, Assopiuma promoted a partnership with the University of Milan - Istituto di profilassi polizia veterinaria (Institute of Prophylaxis and Veterinary Police), within a program aimed at the development and safeguard of the quality of natural filled products.

This partnership provided for tests and analyses on samples drawn from feather and down articles and finished products manufactured by member companies.

An independent laboratory operating within the National Health Service was in charge of such tests. The University also analysed samples drawn from finished products bought by Assopiuma in shops all over Italy.

This partnership gave evidence of the remarkable standards achieved by member companies. Currently Assopiuma to ensure full compliance to the final consumer in hygienic-health, provide for  regular monitoring and verification on products using the Licensees at the University of Milan, Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale of Lombardia and Emilia Romagna . Also occurs, with periodic analysis, the composition of the raw material by IDFL (International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory) certification of compliance as stated on the label.
