Assopiuma and Lavapiuma Nowadays, feather and down filled products are widely used. This is why Associazione italiana puliture a secco tintorie (Italian Association of Dry Cleaners) Assopiuma in collaboration with I.S.I.DE (Italian Cleaning Institute), committed themselves to providing precise directions concerning washing techniques and feather-fillings care.
The Lavapiuma programme is meant to improve the quality of the cleaning service; it offers cleaners a free training programme and the opportunity to display the Lavapiuma sticker on their window as a guarantee of quality and specialised training. Assopiuma has also published its own care handbook.

This
commitment started with the publication of the "Handbook for
Cleaners" on the July/August 1990 issue of Detergo to improve
their knowledge about washing methods for feather and down articles.
This led to the setting up of training courses for operators.
